Prisma Health saves US$ 4 million over 2 years, thanks to digital integration in communication with patients
Prisma Health, South Carolina's largest nonprofit health care provider, stands out by saving US$ 4 million and counting, through revolutionary patient engagement technology. By integrating patients' digital communications, the institution significantly reduced no-shows, achieving an estimated overall savings of US$ 8 million in partnership with Artera, a specialist in patient engagement.
Prisma Health's software-as-a-service platform unifies patients' digital communications, transferring more than 2,300 phone calls to asynchronous text conversations in the first four months of implementation. With an average of 33% of patients waiting less than a minute to get answers via text messages, efficiency was improved, eliminating more than 1,000 overdue specialty referrals in less than two weeks.
In addition, the introduction of the Prisma Health Go app, integrating Gozio Health tools, further simplified the patient journey. Since its launch, the app has seen a significant acceleration in installations, from 40 to 400 downloads per day. With features such as integrated navigation, confirmation of appointments via text message, and a map-based “find care” system, the app reduces patients' stress when navigating the sprawling campus of 18 specialized hospitals.
This innovation not only improved operational efficiency, but also strengthened the connection between the institution and patients. The Prisma Health team reports a significant reduction in call volume and an improvement in the patient experience, with more patients attending appointments.
The success of Prisma Health is yet another proof of the digital health revolution. By joining forces, we can build a future of health that is more connected, accessible, and centered on the well-being of all.
At Caren App, we share this transformative vision, because we believe that technology is a powerful ally to improve the care and monitoring of the health of your patients and clients, providing a more efficient, personalized care journey centered on individual needs.
