Amazon Pharmacy launches drug delivery service via drone in College Station, Texas

To Amazon Pharmacy was surprised to announce the delivery of drugs by drones in College Station, Texas, in 60 minutes or less for eligible customers. Over 500 medications will be available, including for flu, asthma, and pneumonia, with Prime Air drone delivery.

When ordering, a pharmacist loads the medication onto the drone, ensuring its delivery in record time to the customer's door. Eligible customers will see the option “free drone delivery in less than 60 minutes” at checkout. This advance aims to shorten the “golden window” in clinical medicine, the crucial period between symptoms and treatment, especially for infectious and respiratory diseases.

Although it has been delivering via drone since December 2022, Amazon Pharmacy highlights that customers cannot combine different products with drug delivery, stressing the importance of this advance to improve patient outcomes.
